Kelly to Debut Performance of Song at the MTV Movie Awards
May 30, 2002
The Single
Kelly Osbourne proves singing is in the genes with her remake of Madonna's "Papa Don't Preach." Kelly's version of the song was the #1 most added
single at radio in its first week of airplay and is already one of the most
requested songs in the country.
The MTV Movie Awards
Kelly Osbourne will perform the song for
the first time ever at the 2002 MTV Movie Awards. Ben Affleck, Bow Wow, Vin
Diesel, Eve, Jennifer Garner, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Winona Ryder,
and Charlize Theron complete the list of presenters. Hosted
by Jack Black and Sarah Michelle Gellar, the eleventh annual awards show
will be taped June 1st at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and will
air June 6th at 9 PM (ET/PT).
20 New Episodes of "The Osbournes"
Kelly can be seen on MTV's "The Osbournes," which
features the real-life drama of the rock-n-roll family.
MTV cameras follow the family over several months, at home and on the road,
documenting the ups, downs, highs, lows, and the just plain bizarre.
"The Osbournes" will return for a second season in Fall 2002 with 20 new episodes that
will air in the US and on MTV's around the world. The show will once again
follow the real-life drama of Ozzy, Sharon, Jack, Kelly, the dogs, the cats, the assistants,
the band, the roadies, the security guards, the neighbors, and Melinda the
nanny.
The Family Album
The Osbourne Family Album will be in stores
June 11. It features Kelly's debut single and Ozzy's current single
"Dreamer." The disc also contains the best dialogue from the
hit MTV series "The Osbournes" between each track. The package contains a
greeting card from the family just in time for Father's Day. The greeting
card contains the line made famous by Ozzy, America's favorite father, "I
love you more than life itself, but you are 'bleeping' mad." The Osbourne
Family Album features a collection of personal favorites hand-picked by the
family. Here are a few highlights:
- The original 1971 version of "Imagine" by John Lennon. Ozzy and
Sharon fell in love to this song while they were dating.
- Eric Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight." Ozzy used to play this song for
Sharon while they were getting ready to go out.
- "You Really Got Me" by the Kinks, gave Ozzy his first taste of
rock 'n' roll.
- Rare tracks from System of A Down and Starsailor chosen by Jack and
Kelly.
- Ozzy Osbourne classics "Mama, I'm Coming Home," from No More Tears
(1991); and "Crazy Train," from Ozzy's 1981 solo debut Blizzard of
Ozz, featuring the late Randy Rhoads on guitar.
